Sysuev Vasily Alekseevich is a prominent scientist in the field of farm mechanization, the author of over 530 scientific publications including 50 monographs and recommendations, more than 100 inventor’s certificates and patents of the Russian Federation.
Sysuev Vasily Alekseevich, Russian, was born in 1948. After graduating from the Faculty of Farm Mechanization of Kirov Agricultural Institute in 1972 he was working as an engineer and a chief engineer in the Order of the October Revolution collective farm «Iskra», Kotelnich district, Kirov region up to1976.
In 1979 he passed his PhD defense and in 1994 he defended his Doctoral dissertation. In 1996 he was given a title of professor at the Chair of Livestock Breeding Mechanization. In 2001 he was elected an academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, since 2013 he is an academician of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS). In 1979 - 1984 he worked as an assistant lecturer at the Chair of Livestock Breeding Mechanization of Kirov Agricultural Institute, from 1984 to 1988 he was a Mechanization Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Food Industry of Kirov Regional Party Committee of the CPSU. From 1988 to 1990 he was a head of the Department of Mechanization, deputy director for research work, from 1990 to 2017 – a director of « N.V. Rudnitsky Zone North-East Agricultural Research Institute » (Kirov). From 1996 to 2015 he was a chairman of the «North-East Regional Agricultural Scientific Center». Since June 2017 till present he is a scientific director of the « Federal Agricultural Research Center of the North-East named N.V.Rudnitsky».
His scientific activity is aimed at theoretical substantiation, development and application of energy resource saving technologies and manufacturing lines for production, mixing and distribution of feed in livestock breeding; at comprehensive solution of the problems of rational use of biological resources in food facility of the European North-East. He has put forward gnoseological methods of theoretical mechanics for substantiation of farm machinery work processes, developed the principles of agrobiological zoning of territories using the mathematical planning of extreme experiments, established the structure of flow technological lines and optimum composition of new machinery and equipment for forage conservation and processing. At the level of inventions, he has introduced new means and has modernized existing technological means and lines for production and processing of feeds with inclusions of all kinds of hay and straw at any moisture rate, as well as of forage grain and roots and tubers with minimum energy and resources costs.
Sysuev V.A. headed the developments of energy saving and highly efficient technologies and technical means on the level with the best international analogues. These machines are effectively used in 35 subjects of the Russian Federation (sod seeders, fodder shredders, grain grinding and crushing machines and other equipment).
Vasily Alekseevich is a scientist with a broad outlook. He is credited for organizing studies on scientific support of adaptive intensification of agro-industrial complex of Russia. He directed the development of methods of increasing agrobiological and energy efficiency of plant growing, lead the conduction of research aimed at providing sustained production and multipurpose use of winter rye.
Vasily Alekseevich pays special attention to training of young scientists, he leads the work of joint dissertation committee D 999.143.03 dealing with PhD and doctoral thesis defense at FARC North-East. He is an expert of RAS and RSF (Russian Science Foundation).
Vasily Alekseevich is a recognized leader in agrarian science. He heads the Committee on Innovation and Science of the Vyatka Trade-Industrial Chamber, actively promotes the achievements of agrarian science at Russian and International scientific forums. Vasily Alekseevich is one of initiators and organizers of efficient scientific-research collaboration with scientists of Province Jilin, China on bee-keeping, selection of grain and fruit crops, mycology. Due to his initiative, Chinese-Russian Center of fungal resources has been established, Russian-Chinese mycological expedition has been carried out, a joint monograph on medicinal mushrooms has been published, a cooperative laboratory on selection and processing of winter rye and oat has been founded. Sysuev V.A. is the author of 80 foreign publications issued in Poland, China, Check Republic, Bulgaria, Belgium, Turkey, Egypt, Hungary, Byelorussia, Ukraine.
Since 2000 he is the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal «An Agrarian science of Euro-North-East». He is also a member of editorial boards of such journals as « Achievements of Science and Technology of AIC», « Theoretical and Applied Ecology», «Farm Mechanic» [Selsky Mekhanik], «Scientific herald of the Nizhny Novgorod State Engineering-Economic Institute» [Vestnik NGIEI]. Vasily Alekseevich helps to disseminate scholarly knowledge in the field of agricultural, technical and biological sciences all over the world.
